This Study Day will provide an insight into some of the events and the citizens that have shaped the history of the ancient Borough of Wallingford.

The programme includes two lectures by the eminent local historian Judy Dewey, which will take place at the Corn Exchange, in the centre of Wallingford. There will then be the opportunity to participate in interactive Special Interest Groups led by local experts, with a choice from the following activities:

u Castle Walk: The Gardens and Meadows

u Town Hall Presentation

u Three Churches

u Town Walk into History

u Wallingford Museum

The programme is designed to bring the history of Wallingford to life and explore some of the town’s hidden treasures.

 

This Study Day has been organised as a contribution to the Thames Valley U3A Network Riverside Project and members from other TVN branches will be warmly welcomed to this day of discovery in Historic Wallingford.
